Course Description:

 

This is a mere foundation course. This course aims at familiarizing the learners with the basics terms and terminologies of SLA. The course will further focus on the popular SLA theories and the usual and useful  pedagogic practices in effective classroom teaching. It may also encourage students to further research by orienting and introducing them to current research on classroom problems and practices.


Course Objectives

 

The main objective of the course is to:

 

      Ø      familiarize the students with store of ELT text and literature.

      Ø      encourage a keen interest among students towards learning and teaching

      Ø      develop a thirst among learners to use innovative and modern teaching tools

             and techniques.


Overall Evaluation:  (a) 20% attendance and class performance

                                    (b) 30% midterm examination

                                    (c) 50% final assignment.
